100 Days left!

O-M-G!  100 days!!!! Sounds like a lot to some, sounds like a little to me at the moment.  We will be in double digits tomorrow.

Last time I had 100 days left of pregnancy it was January, so I was the perfect temp for the cold weather. It's now late June and 80's to 90's every day, so a little less comfortable for a momma bear.

This weekend is the big room move!  I'll try to take lots of pics, but I probably wont :)  The goal is to get Emma's room completely set up and get a good start on Matthew's room.  This will give Emma lots of time to get used to her new room before she has to get used to her new brother!

My mom and dad are coming down to help out.  Mom will be watching Emma while dad and I and Chris will be working on the rooms.

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this before but I have CRAZY dreams almost every night that are very vivid and I normally remember.   Last night I had a dream that Matthew was kicking so hard, I could see his whole leg.  It was weird and gross and a bad dream, but crazy all the same.

Kind of excited for tomorrow.  I"m going to my first MOMMY MEETUP!  I absolutely love meeting new people and joining things.  So I decided to give this group a try and they have a million meetups for different things.  Tomorrow is called Baby Talk at the mall.  I have no idea what to expect, but there are 5 other moms going and by reading their profiles, at least 2 of them have kids within 2 months of Emma.  I'll definitely let you know how it goes. I'm very optimistic.

When I first moved to baltimore I joined "girls in the city" and "junior league".  Both good expereiences in their own right.  Then I joined kickball and softball and decided those were where my time was best spent.

Then next weekend is already 4th of July!  Where are the days going?  ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Tonight I'm meeting up with my girlfriend for dinner at her house.  1 pro about being the pregnant one is people normally ask you what you are craving, then they make it for you, case in point, tonight I get to have one of her DELICIOUS QUICHES!  I can not wait.

Another exciting piece of news is Emma can say more in sign language.  I'm actually not a HUGE fan of baby sign language.  Maybe I'm old school, but I just like them to go right to talking, but it is SOOOO CUTE!  Whenever she's in her chair, we say MORE?  and do the sign, and she does it back when she wants more.  I love it.

She has another ear infection, which isn't a good thing, but at least it gives an explanation to the coughing ALL NIGHT for the past week. Hoping the antibiotics kick in and this kid kicks this thing once and for all!  We have been going to the pool a few times and she loves the baby pool.  It is so fun to see her laugh and smile, but so scary when she wants to walk in the water by herself.

25 Weeks!

First of all, yay because I've officially surpassed 10,000 views.  It means nothing, but nice to know someone is listening :)

How far along? 25 Weeks and 3 days

Total weight gain: 15 lbs - this is a story all on it's own. So last post ended with me saying I felt big.  blah blah blah.  So I go to the doctor and I had gained 6 lbs.  Not too bad in my opinion.  Doc comes in and says "you are gaining too much weight, what happened?"  I immediately apologized and felt a rush of embarrassment.  Then she says "you gained 35 lbs so far"  WHOA WHOA WHOA!  what????  I said, "ummm no, only 15"  They put 26 lbs weight gain instead of 6 in the computer!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE F!  To make a long story short, I got reweighed and yes, 6 lbs thank you very much.  I proceeded to leave as quickly as possible and cried my eyes out to DH right when I got in the car.  It's over now and let's just hope that never happens again!
Stretch marks? yes, old ones are starting to show more.  Funny thing is I don't have the Linea Negra with this pregnancy and it was VERY VISIBLE with Emma.
Sleep: Sleep is not too bad.  I wake up 1 - 3 times to pee, but if Emma sleeps, I sleep :)
Best moment this week: Celebrated McKenna's 1st Birthday!  We had lots of fun in PA playing with everyone and going swimming at Grammy and Grandpop's!

Miss Anything? Wine and Beer and Champagne.
Movement: Lots every day.
Food cravings: Cereal
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. I haven't been able to eat fish lately, although last night we had potato encrusted cod and it was delicious.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Awful back pain, heartburn
Belly Button in or out? eh, I'd say "in"
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: It depends on the hour, but I'd like to think Happy most of the time.
Looking forward to: Well, I'm looking forward to meeting Matthew.  I have 102 days to go, but it's getting there. Funnily enough I feel like with Emma I was like, Come on Come on and with Matthew I'm more thinking, take your time, please take your time :)

Also, THE BEACH!  Can't wait for vaca this year.
Next appt. (July 14th) I have my glucose test. Hopefully I'll pass the first time this pregnancy.  Remind me not to eat a fig newton on my way and it might help, haha. I'll also start appts every 2 weeks, which is kind of fun to look forward to because it means it's getting closer!

25 WEEKS WITH EMMA!

How far along? 25 Weeks and 2 days
Total weight gain: 23 lbs (still hopefully) Since I went to the gym twice this week which is more than I've done in the past few months, I'll assume I'm staying at the same weight :)
Maternity clothes? Yes Please.
Stretch marks? A few, but I'm feeling pretty good on that front.
Sleep: Sleep is not good right now.  I can't get comfortable and my mind races for about the first 2 hours of laying down about different things.
Best moment this week: Painting Emma's room :)  (pics to follow, but here is a sneak peak)

Chris and I decided to get fancy and put chair rail in as well. It didn't fit in our car, so this is me hoping to not get decapitated. It was actually really funny and we are so proud of our finished product.

We also had a really fun New Year's Eve at our neighbor's house (Matt and Julie). They had family down and invited us along. We did dinner and drinks and had really fun conversation.  I don't think I could have asked for anything more.
Miss Anything? Wine and Beer and Champagne.  NYE was fun though.  I did allow myself 1 glass of champagne and trust me, Chris would not have allowed a sip more. :)  But I kept busy with Sparkling Cider and Non-Alcoholic Champagne - YES, it's awful.
Movement: Lots every day. Keep it coming :)
Food cravings: Cereal
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Nice dark line down my belly, rib pain from time to time, tired, moody, but feeling good today!
Belly Button in or out? In-ish - it's hanging on by a thread these days.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: It depends on the hour, but I'd like to think Happy most of the time.
Looking forward to: Well, I'm looking forward to meeting Emma.  I have 103 days to go, but it's getting there.

Next appt. (Jan. 24th) I have my glucose test. WISH ME LUCK! I'll also start appts every 2 weeks, which is kind of fun to look forward to because it means it's getting closer!

Growing up...............

My little baby isn't a little baby anymore.  She's moving out of the Kitten Room into the Jungle Room in school!!! It even sounds more grown up.  They are transitioning to these cute little cots instead of cribs and moving to 1 long afternoon nap from 2 naps.  True Emma might not be COMPLETELY ready, but are we ever completely ready for the changes in our lives?

Yesterday was Day #1 of the new trial.  She decided to fall asleep at 11 and sleep in her crib.  GOOD FOR YOU EMMA!  DAMN THE MAN :)  She did sleep for 3 1/2 hours and came home in a good mood, maybe a little tired, but had a great night and slept from 7 to 630.  So I'm not complaining :)

She definitely needs her allergy medicine at night these days.  She just seems to be more comfortable at night when she has it, and I hear the allergies are very bad right now.  Fortunately I'm not really a bad sufferer of seasonal allergies, but DH is and it is definitely obvious when they are in full force!

Emma is also getting so smart these days.  I can now say "are you hungry? get in your chair" and she goes right over to her high chair for food.  She is babbling up a cute little storm and says Hi and waves (when she feels like it).  Her face LIGHTS UP when I walk in to pick her up now, which melts my heart every day and it lights up again when she sees DH when we get home.  She's just great :)

On a slightly bummier note, I've definitely been feeling very large these days.  I know everyone is different and I gained almost 60 pounds with Emma, but lost the first 40 in like 6 weeks. (never lost the last 10, haha).  It's just easy to feel FAT sometimes, especially when you have two babies in two years  and not so easy to tell people that you don't wanna hear you aren't fat.  I mean it's nice, but it doesn't help.  I'd rather hear nothing at all about my weight.  I'd rather hear, you look exactly like a 6 month pregnant woman should look like.  I don't need to look great or cute, just regular.  :)  Too much to ask?

But look at that face..........she was worth every pound and so much more, my little love muffin :)
Oh yeah, he's pretty cute too ;)

Father's Day

23 weeks

 Date Night!
We went to Wit & Wisdom.  Which is in Harbor East in the Four Seasons.  We don't get many date nights (per our own fault really), but when we do, we try to go somewhere new and non-kid friendly.  This place was AMAZING!  It was so good.  We went all out.  For appetizers Chris got oysters and I got a caesar salad. For the main course, I got WOOD OVEN-ROASTED VIRGINIA CHICKEN |
grilled asparagus, morels, truffle bread pudding
and Chris got MICHAEL'S MAINE LOBSTER POT PIE |
brandied lobster cream, truffle, wild mushrooms
then we went to haagan daaz for dessert.  Go big or go home right?  OMG, so DELICIOUS!  I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a date night in the city.  We sat right next to these floor to ceiling windows and had a wonderful view of the water while we ate as well.  The staff gave perfect service and we asked for suggestions a couple of times and they were very informative.  Again, DELISH!  I have to give props to DH, because he picked the place this time.  Guess I have my work cut out for me for the next date night.  On a side note, they also had an awesome bar....if I was 5 years younger and 2 kids and a husband less, it's definitely the place I would want to be hanging out.  hahaha

24 weeks

Emma was sick Thursday - Saturday as well :(  Fortunately it didn't seem too bad.  She had a fever and was extra tired, but she did have good moods throughout the day as well and ate and slept like normal for the most part.

We thought some fresh air would do her good on Saturday so we took her to the pool.  She loved it as usual and is even starting to love getting in the big pool with momma.  There is nothing cuter than a little toddler wrapped in a towel after swimming.

And Sunday was FATHER'S DAY!

We went to Emma's first Oriole's Game!  All the pics are on DH's camera, (here is 1 below) but hopefully I'll be able to add some more soon.

She absolutely loved it (for about 45 minutes).  She loved sitting in her seat and staring/yelling at people walking by.  It was a bit warmer than I had anticipated however, so thank goodness our seats were in the shade or we wouldn't have made it as long as we did.  3 innings was our time frame for the game, but we went in knowing we weren't going to make it, so we took it for what it was worth and had a wonderful time.

Next weekend is McKenna's 1st birthday!!!! Excited to celebrate and have fun with the family.  Next doctor appointment is Friday, but Matthew is still moving around like crazy, so just really wondering how fast this weight is packing on!

Until next time :)

What's in a Name?

Looking back through pregnancy #1, I noticed that we revealed the name at 24 weeks.  We aren't keeping it a secret this time and since I haven't said it yet and I'm almost 24 weeks, here is the name:

MATTHEW FRANCIS MOHER

We went a little more traditional this time around, naming the baby after our fathers.  Two of the best men we know.  Matthew is my dad and Francis (Frank) is DH's dad.  Francis is also DH's middle name, so now we both will have little mini me's (in the sense of middle names anyway).

To update on Emma's current condition....turns out she has an ear infection and doctor thinks seasonal allergies are playing a part as well.  She back on the antibiotic she's been on before for ear infections and also taking an allergy medicine.  This morning she woke up with two eyes that could open, so I'd call the medicine a success.  There was still goup, but definitely not as much.

Best thing in life is now when I say "give baby kissy", emma throws her mouth on my belly to give it kisses.  NEVER GETS OLD!

Weighed her yesterday at the doctor too and she's 24 lbs already!  Then I got on the scale just to see. If I'm right, I gained 2 more pounds, but I was holding Emma and trying to do the math...who knows.

Until next time :)

Current Obsession

CURRENT OBSESSION:

1 serving of Oikos Vanilla Greek Yogurt
Granola
Honey
Cut Up Strawberries

Mix them together and you'll feel like you're eating a decedent dessert!

PS. Dear Baby Boy,  I love your kicks and wiggles, but if you could tone it down (just a little), momma would appreciate it.  - and next week I'll be dying because he isn't moving as much, ha!

So officially taking Emma to the pediatrician today since I had to pry her eyes open this morning due to the fact they were stuck together with EYE BOOGERS!! GROSS!

It's so funny, you read the internet with your child's symptoms and always someone says it's very very serious and then the doctor said we could either wait it out (after telling them all her symptoms) or bring her in.  Gotta bring her in just to be safe, but this little girl is seriously trying to break me.  It's always something, but then on the same note, it's really nothing!  we are so lucky with our baby girl. It's hard to see how lucky we are in we are prying eye lids open, but thank you jesus for my healthy spunky cheeky (in the words of peppa pig) little love button.

Man this pregnancy is really amping up the corniness!

PSS. Yesterday we changed the curtains in Emma's NEW ROOM to start and get things ready.  We are moving things out little by little and soon my dad and I will be redoing baby boy's dresser in the coming weeks.  We can't seem to find bedding we like yet, so we keep on looking.  We are leaning towards sports themed, but I don't want anything too out there. Who knows.

Until next time.

Birthday Fun

So 30 has no officially come and gone.  I can't say I'm happy about it, but celebrating was one of my favorite years yet.

I had mentioned that DH threw me a surprise party the weekend before my birthday.  I'm not the easiest to surprise but he pulled it off.  It was sooo soo soo much fun.  We had my favorite food (mission bbq) and a cake from the fancy cake place growing up, hahaha (bakers of buffington).  My family was there, my best friends from my childhood/adulthood and all of my closest friends in baltimore.  My mom and dad came down and babysat Emma and my nieces.  I thought we were going out to celebrate my sister and brother in laws 5th wedding anniversary, so that is how they got me out and looking presentable at the same time :)

The food was good, the drinks were plentiful (i did have about 6 o'douls, hahaha), the music was great and I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.  I even got some very wonderful gifts, which I totally did not expect!  I am so lucky in life.

So then DH also surprised me with a night away at the beach for my actual birthday as well.  We packed up our little family and headed to OCMD on Friday morning.  Emma had an awful diaper rash and although it stressed me out (because we can never go anywhere with everyone being 100% healthy), but we worked through it.  God must have thought we worked threw it too easily as he threw in some clogged eye ducts (we think from sun tan lotion) while we were there.  That was a sight to see, let me tell you.  Ever see a little girl crying eye boogers?  Someone actual was like, awww why is she crying?  She wasn't,  eye boogers were just pouring out of her eyes.  yes, it's as gross as it sounds.  One of the first times I was embarrassed to have her out in public, lol.  It was so freakin GROSS!  We are still working through this as her eye ducts still seem clogged, but we "think" they are getting better.  Poor little girl.

Anyway,  back to the fun stuff.  when we entered our hotel room, we decided we were gonna stay two nights instead of one.  It was a little splurge on our part, but totally worth it. We stayed at the holiday inn on the boardwalk and they have the best kiddie pool.  Emma loved it and she loved playing in the sand just as much as she did the first time we went down to the beach.  She still isn't totally in love with the ocean, but who can blame her.

So on our way home we hit one more snag, a flat tire! Not completely flat, just going flat, and quickly, right as we were going over the bay bridge! we had to fill up the tire four times as we drove home. What a nightmare :) again though, we made it.  We made it just in time to be able to sell our first stroller to help pay for our double stroller (these things ain't cheap).  Man plans and God laughs. Well, he was having a ball yesterday.  In the end though, everything worked out perfectly.

The weather at the beach was spectacular.  We had delicious food and had an ocean front room!  It was so nice to be able to shut the door in our room to the little sitting area too so Emma had a quiet place to sleep.

So now we are home.  I'm 30.  We have our second crib ready to be put together and our second baby to get ready for. Where does the time go?  I'm coming to realize it's only getting faster.

I will say I think one of the best moments this /weekend came as DH and I sat on the porch and he asked, "so what do you want before you are 40?"  and I really couldn't think of anything because in truth, I have everything I need. Obviously I can always think of a few things, but my response was health and happiness for my children.  (didn't help when we saw Emma take a header off the couch yesterday, but I guess she has to learn somehow)

I guess that is it for now....Until Next time!

STILL IN MY 20's :)

How far along: 22 weeks 3 days
Total weight gain/loss: Well, good thing I would be happy if it was 9 or below, because it's 9!!! I gained 9 lbs. in

4 weeks (oops). Doctor was actually pretty ok with that, since it's only been 9 pounds the whole pregnancy, but let's try to not do that again in a four week period.
Sleep: Not great, but what are you gonna do? I officially wake up everyday at 3:30 am to pee. AT LEAST
Best moment this week: DH threw me a SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY! It was so fun! Here are some pics:

AND, not only that, but DH is taking me to the beach on Friday to continue the celebration :)
Movement: This little boy NEVER STOPS MOVING. It's a love/hate relationship. I'm just hoping he's not getting me ready for what is to come when he comes out.
