Makeover

Perfect way to start this entry!

I grew up with things always changing.  I don't mean big things, but I'd say every month or so the living room would be changed around, or my parent's bedroom furniture, or what was in the kitchen cabinets.  I've also moved about every 1 - 2 years since I was 18 from dorm to dorm to apartment to house. So fortunately or unfortunately I like change.  I like to spice things up! and 1 easy thing to spice up is my HAIR!  I've gone from really long to really short to really blonde to red to dark brown.  I don't know if my DH is as on board with all of these wild hairdos, but he deals with it.

So this is the hair I've been dealing with lately:

For the record, I only get my hair done MAYBE once a year?  I'm not a huge hair girl.  I put it in a ponytail most of the time. I have a 1 year old, so that is my current excuse...anyway, I still like to look pretty though and that hair just was NOT cutting it.  So I go to my only wonderful perfect hairdresser in Annapolis, Nicole.  It's an extra bonus that she's a good friend, but she's a miracle worker.  Hudson & Fouquet is her place of work and it's the best! So anyway, I go to Nicole and I say, this is what I want:

I'd take the face too, but we can only ask for so much!  Best thing about Nicole is, I say this is what I want and do what you will.  I don't give her too much direction and everytime she asks me a question I say "do what you think is best".  She may hate that, but i feel I should leave the big decisions to the professionals.  So this is what I got!

Did she not do the perfect job!  I LOVE IT!  My only gripe is I'll never get it to look as good as she did with the whole blow out round brush thing, but I'll work on it.  I guess first step is buying myself a respectable round brush?

You also get a snapshot of baby belly Week #13. :)  I just got some really really cute spring shirts from Kohls.

Anyway,  moral of the story is I love my new hair and I should be good with change for at least a month :)

Until next time............

Hello Second Trimester!

Started on Week 5

So now I'm in my 13th week and into the second trimester.  I'm not quite feeling the burst of energy yet, but hopefully it kicks in soon.  Although my tummy is a bit showy, I weighed myself last weekend and I don't think I've gained more than a pound so far.  I have an appt. next Thursday so we shall see.

This is a throwback from the first time around and following is my update for this pregnancy.

FROM OCTOBER 8, 2012
How far along? 12 weeks, 2 days
Total weight gain/loss? As of last Thursday I have gained 2 pounds total
Maternity clothes?I pretty much stick to maternity pants these days, but can still squeeze into a couple of pairs.

Sleep? Good. Currently I am out cold by 9pm every night :)
Best moment last week? Seeing Baby on ultrasound which followed a not so good moment of not being able to find the heartbeat. All worked out though
Movement? Nada
Food cravings? Cereal (Trix, Fruit Loops) and Chicken makes me wanna puke this week. Don't know why..
Gender? No idea
Labor signs? Nope
Belly button in/out? In
What I miss: Nothing at the moment. Feeling very anxious to get this pregnancy timeline moving!
What I am looking forward to: Buying Baby Stuff, Decorating Nursery, Finding out Gender
your baby at 12 weeks

Most of her critical systems are fully formed!
She's about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which her organs and tissues will grow and develop rapidly.
She's now developing her reflexes -- if you poke her body, she'll likely move.
She's opening and closing her fingers and curling her toes, too.
Her brain is developing fast!

How far along? 12 weeks, 4 days
Total weight gain/loss? 1 - 2 pounds
Maternity clothes? Maternity pants all the time, but still wear regular shirts.  I can also wear regular yoga/exercise pants, but anything without a stretchy waist will have to wait until after baby is born.
Sleep? Good. Currently I am out cold by 9pm every night and awake before 6 usually with Emma.
Best moment last week? I love it when Emma lifts up my shirt and puts her head on my tummy.  It may mean nothing, but I like to think she knows :)
Movement? Nada
Food cravings? More like food aversions. Nothing sounds good anymore and dinnertime is the worst.
Gender? Had a dream it was a girl....we shall see
Labor signs? Nope
Belly button in/out? In
What I miss: Nice glass of wine
What I am looking forward to: Next appt and hearing baby's heartbeat again.

What's New?

So I told you all the good news, then disappeared for a few days :)

This is my last week in my first trimester and I already have a c-section scheduled in SEPTEMBER!!!!!!!  THAT SOUNDS SO CLOSE!  I'm not 100% getting a c-section, but having the babies so close together and having a c-section the first time, we are erring on the cautious side.  There is an imaginary 18 month cutoff line between pregnancies if you have a c-section because if you don't heal than you could have a uterine rupture (look it up). haha. Well, September will be right on the edge of 18 months, so since I'm no a huge risk taker, I'll probably play it safe, but if everything is progressing well and looking good before my surgery date than we may just roll the dice and see how it goes.  Since my first c-section was more a reaction to the pitossin and not because of me or the baby, it's not so definite that it will happen again. Only time will tell!

Looking back at posts from my first pregnancy it's funny to see me say that I can't wait to get a baby bump when I was 11 weeks the first time.  Wait to get a baby bump??  It's already there now!

That was from last weekend.  I could probably be exercising more and eating better, but I could be worse too.  Just trying to enjoy this pregnancy even more than the first time.

We also had some visitors last weekend!  Emma's cousins (McKenna and Savannah) came for the night with my sister and they had so much fun together!

We even went the aquarium the next day and although it was crazy packed, we still had tons of fun.

Emma's new favorite thing is riding in her car and falling asleep!  We went for a walk the other day and this is what I found as I looked down and we were almost home.  Fortunately it has a strap, becuase I thought she was gonna fall out of it a couple of times.  hahaha.  Good info for any days that she doesn't want to nap though, because this seems fail proof!

My little baby girl is now 11 months old!  1 month until her first year of life has been completed.

She is the best part of my days and I am the luckiest mommy alive for getting her as a daughter.  I've officially gone to 4 days back to work now.  I'll miss our Mondays, but I love her daycare and know that she is in good hands.

Until Next Time!

Finally Ready....

....to spill the beans!

Emma is going to be a BIG SISTER!

We've known for like 5 weeks now and I've been DYING to say something.  However, you know the drill!

To be honest, I still don't want to post it on facebook yet, if ever!  I posted on my instagram this pic:

We are about 9 weeks and 5 days along.  Still relatively early, but I had my second scan today and everything looked perfect, so I'm feeling confident.

Yes, i said second scan...why two you ask?  Because I started freaking out.  For no real reasons other than my own personal freak out session.  I needed to hear that heartbeat one more time.  Fortunately i have the best OB-GYN in the country and they wisked me right in within 24 hours of my plea and there it was.  Fluttering at 169 bpm, my perfect little extra heartbeat inside.

Emma doesn't know what is about to hit her, but than again, do any of us?  I'm sure I'll be posting more sooner rather than later, but I had to get that out there!

Until next time...........

Go Away Snow!

Another snow storm yesterday. This probably isn't news to most of you, since you are in the same position.

I do have a silver lining though.  Last night.............................EMMA DIDN'T GET UP!   I can't say she "slept through the night", because she did wake up coughing at 3am, however it never got too bad, so we didn't go in and get her, and she fell back asleep without crying at all!  VICTORY WILL BE MINE!

When my alarm went off at 6 am I almost didn't believe it.  Here's to hoping we keep going in the right direction.  Some sunny days with rising temperatures should would help, but I guess I should be happy with what I get!

Emma tried out her new carseat today.  I love it.  I hope she does too.  This is what it looks like:

I wanted something neutral, but I didn't want to go straight black and white again.  I think it's a good choice.  I am so excited to be able to turn her to the front someday.  I know we have a little while, but with the way time is flying, it should be here in no time.

I also started getting things ready for her FIRST BIRTHDAY!  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  Little by little, but we are doing a rainbow theme, with maybe some Peppa Pig thrown in (she's hard to find around here though).

She's also getting so close to walking.  She'll walk holding my hand a little and loves to push around her walking toys, but she is still unsure about taking those first steps on her own.  All in due time!

:)
