1 month

Age: 1 month
Weight & Height: At my 1 month appointment I was 22.75 inches long and 12 lbs. 10 oz.  Mommy and the doctor were very happy with my weight gain. I am in the 97th percentile of  height and  99th of weight.
Things I enjoy: Being held and sleeping during the day.  I like bath time.  I love eating and I love it when mommy and daddy bounce me around on their shoulder.
Skills I've mastered: I'm getting better at holding my head up.  I do it better when I'm on mommy's shoulder, but I also do it at tummy time. I'm also really good at eating! I rarely if ever spit up.
Looking forward to: Smiling at mommy and daddy on purpose.
Tough Times: Nights are tough. Mommy and daddy are learning when I cluster feed, they are learning when I am gassy and when i just need to be held. I normally have at least one 4 hour stretch at night and I'm hoping to get better and better.   Sometimes when I cry, mommy and daddy don't know why I'm upset and that is a tough time too.
Exciting Events: I am going to be spending a few days with grammy and grandpop smith.  It will be my first car trip and I think I'm gonna be great at it!  I'm also looking forward to dressing up for Halloween with my big sister Emma!

Ain't no rest for the wicked........or anyone for that matter

Age: 24 days old
Weight & Height: I have my 1 month appt next week. I have a feeling Im still gaining weight.
Things I enjoy: Being held and sleeping during the day. I also love nursing with mommy and want to do it all the time!
Skills I've mastered: Crying when I want something and eating out of a bottle.  I also love baths.
Tough Times: Nights are tough.  True we've had some good ones, but I'm not going down or staying down for mommy a lot of the time.  Mommy is trying to think positive, but I didn't fall asleep until 3am last night so Im not making it easy.
Exciting Events: I've had lots of visitors and everyone has given me lots of gifts.  I'm gearing up for all of the holiday festivities. Mommy has taken me to the store a few times and we've gone on a few walks. Everything is exciting to me right now and I have a feeling something awesome is gonna happen when I'm sleeping at night, that's why I do everything in my power to stay up as long as possible!
Looking forward to: Growing more and sleeping through the night more!

It's funny, I don't remember the beginning madness with Emma at all.  Must be a gift from God to forget so easily.  I have a feeling I was more patient with her, because I can't imagine getting this upset so quickly in the beginning.  He's only a month old and I have to remember he has no idea what he's doing.  He'll get there eventually.  Another hurdle is he was only sleeping in his vibrating chair.  Part of me just wants to let him do it, but another part of me worries about all the bad stuff that people say about letting your baby do that.  For the record just as many people say they did it too, but you never know.

Some pics :)

Matthew Francis Moher

Long time no write!

Life's been obviously crazy lately.  Little man did not come on his own like I had originally hoped, so we had a scheduled C-Section on Monday, September 29th and it couldn't have gone smoother.

I have to admit, getting a spinal tap is WAY easier than getting an epidural.  Not sure why, but it didn't hurt in the least.

It was quite freaky walking back to the operating room and hopping up onto the table myself, but just like the first time, all of my doctors were amazing.  The same doc performed the procedure, but my anesthesiologist was different and just as great as the first one.

Matthew Francis Moher was born at 9:43am.  Before they started the doctors asked me how big I thought he would be.  I said 10 pounds and they all laughed saying no way.  Well little man turned out to be 11 lbs on the dot! Even though they did a c-section they still had to use a vacuum to get him all the way out. It was crazy the second time, kind of knowing what going to happen and being a lot more aware than the first time.

He popped out and he was a beautiful 21 inches long.  99th percentile in measurements obviously, and he is perfect.

When he came out his blood sugar was on the low side because of his size so the nurses in recovery made me stick him right on for a feeding even though my shakes had not gone away.  That was probably the worst part of the whole process, because all you hear is NICU and you're trying to feed your minute old baby while about 5 nurses are around staring at you.  It all worked out in the end.  He got about 10 ml of formula to help, but that seems to be all he needed.

Matthew had is 2 week checkup today and he's already back to pretty much his birth weight.  10 lb. 15.5 ounces and he's already 23 inches long!!!

He's a little yellow still, but no one is worried as he's eating and going to the bathroom very regularly.

It's a happy thing to know that eventually you forget how hard the first weeks of nights are, unfortunately we are right in the thick of it right now. I know it'll get easier, but when you've been up for 4 hours at 3 am it's hard to keep your cool.

Emma absolutely loves her little brother so far, she loves kissing and hugging him.  He's met all of the Smith side and Grandmom and Grandpop Moher along with Uncle Tom, Jen and Connor.  Aunt Amanda and Uncle Dan are coming down this weekend for a visit and hopefully a meeting with the rest of the family isn't too far behind.

HOpefully it isn't as long before my next post, it's just so easy not to find the time right now.  here are so pics of the little man!!

37 Weeks

How far along? 37 Weeks and 5 days

Total weight gain: little jump this week, but I had my appt. right after lunch - 42 lbs. oops

Sleep: Awful

Miss Anything? Miss not being pregnant.

Movement: Lots

Food cravings: Anything bad for me - last two grocery shopping trips did not turn out well

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not these days (knock on wood), just not easy to find something I actually want to eat, which actually again surprised me that I had gained that much weight.

Gender: Boy

Labor Signs: None

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, swollen feet, frequent peeing

Belly Button in or out? Out

Wedding rings on or off? Off

Happy or Moody most of the time: Moody

Looking forward to: Not being pregnant....did I say that already?

So had my appt yesterday. No dilation, no nothing.  Just like last time, just like with Emma :)  It's definitely harder to move around with this baby.  He's bigger.  Got an ultrasound yesterday too (doctor thought he was breached, but no, JUST THAT HIGH) hahaha.

But I had my appt. with my fav doctor. The doctor that delivered Emma and is scheduled to Deliver Matthew on the 29th.  She is so great!  We talked about how she supports VBAC and even if I go in that morning for the c section and labor starts, we can see where we go from here.  She offered to push the C back, but NO WAY NO HOW!  She also thinks this baby is very very large.  She just makes me feel so comfortable, I'm very lucky to have this in a doctor, because not everyone does.  The thought of a c-section scares the crap out of me.  I got cut in half during my 8th grade talent show, I don't like doing it in real life too!

So I've been sitting on my exercise ball all day (nothing seems to be changing) and just hoping for this little boy to make his way down before my next appointment.  Give me some kind of progress kid!!!

I did my last big grocery shopping trip today.  Only one more Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday without my baby boy.  CRAZY!

I've also been spoiling Emma a little extra.  What are you gonna do?

Like I said, it's definitely a lot harder to move around with this pregnancy  I'm not sure why, but I am ready ready ready to not have to carry around this belly anymore for a long long time!

#1 Guilty Pleasure

My absolute #1 guilty pleasure is BRAVO TV!!!!!!!!!!  If DH actually reads this post, I'd be highly surprised!

Real Housewives

Below Deck

Million Dollar Listing

Top Chef

Don't be Tardy

ANDY COHEN IN GENERAL!

DH absolutely HATES it, but let's just say I'm not a huge fan of his viewing pleasures at times as well.  No bravo?  Then no simpsons, no southpark, no neil young concerts on tv. lol

So, let's get down to the important stuff...

Real Housewives is a must.  DC was actually my favorite.  I LOVED Cat Ommaney!!!! I even read her book.  Unfortunately it didn't last long.  DH and I were driving home and stopped at the rest stop right near the DE border and saw Stacie Turner and her family.  I wanted to go over soooo bad!  Instead I stared :)

Orange County and New York are my next favs.  Tamra's going crazy and Vicki is getting better and better.  Of all the newcomers, I love Shannon the most.  I like Lizzie, but Heather is falling in my favs category each season.  She's definitely a little too much into herself.

I actually wasn't into NY in the first few seasons with Bethany, but now I am obsessed!  I like them all, except Ramona and Sonja are pretty much insane!!!  For my 30th, my sister bought me a bottle of Ramona Pinot!!!!! Waiting for baby to come out so I can pop that baby open.  Only those who agree in the obsession of Ramona Pinot! (i'm talking to you Julie!)

Now onto Below Deck.  It's a newer show, only in it's second season....I love to hate pretty much all of the characters except Eddie and he's from Baltimore!!!  They are just all so whiney it drives me nuts, but I can't get enough of it!

I am more into Million Dollar Listing NY.  I watched LA, but not as good.  I have a slight obsession/crush on Fredrik Euklund.  True he's happily married to a beautiful man, but then again, so am I. HAHAHA. Ryan's annoying and Luis needs to man up a little, but I love it.

I only watched Top Chef last season and it was good, but I'm never upset to miss an episode and Don't be Tardy is really only watched in rerun form.  I love Kroy and Kim, but her daughters are just a little much for me, which turns me off.

Well, that's my time wasting post of the day!!!!  Next appt is at 315 today.  Think dilation!!!  :)

Only a few days left of Emma being our only obsession!
